There are many, many more people who are trained as various types of faith leaders than are actively functioning as faith leaders.
To meet the demand for spiritual care and education of everyone on the planet, we will all need to say ‘yes!’ to our callings again.
With the help of today’s expanding technologies, as more people gain internet access, your greatest gifts of love can reach others’ greatest needs, just around the corner and clear around the globe.
We, faith leaders, should embody unifying, loving human relationships between all peaceful belief systems. People should be able to search one place for the faith leaders of all peace-loving faiths that are near them. We should be easily seen smiling, laughing and embracing one another so that everyone else knows that it is possible, right and good to nurture those friendships.
The Faith Leader Directory is a searchable database of faith leaders and faith communities. It is separate from the Be Kind Humans private, online universe. Although there are faith leaders and communities in both places, they are not automatically the same faith leaders or communities.
The Faith Leader Directory includes faith communities and, separately, their faith leaders. However, our design and theology were first developed to resource the faith leaders who are not pastoring congregations. Yes, congregational pastors are needed in this combined directory, but they are the add-on, we let them in also ... after you. Our ministries were birthed for your ministries first.
If the Faith Leader Directory begins to display a homogenous bunch of leaders or communities, then it will have failed at its mission to reflect the diversity of created people. This directory needs you and your community or else you and your community will be invisible. The world needs you. They need your exact face, your voice, your gifts, your love, whatever it is that you bring. Add your listing to the Faith Leader Directory and consider the other services on this page.

Until now, faith leaders without a congregation to support them have usually been unable to overcome the entry costs to launch their own ministry. Instead of pastoring congregations they disappeared from ministry and blended into the secular workforce, grieving then forgetting their earlier callings.
Today, however, it is the “unaffiliated” or “independent” faith leader that the postmodernists, Spiritual But Not Religious (SBNR), Nones and others prefer. For many, being on the payroll of a faith community creates a concern.
Independent faith leaders can now afford a place to do ministry! Whatever positive, healthy, loving, constructive ministry you can imagine, we are striving to put the means within reach. You want to have a base, an office, a classroom, a great hall, a bulletin board, an event space, or all of the above for one low price? Done. Want to plant a church ... anywhere? Done. Need to work it as a "side hustle" nights while you grow? Done. Of the six billion people on the planet, a few people are looking online for what you have to offer right now. Some are probably within walking distance, if you have an in-person offering. We want them to be able to find your place of ministry.
Beyond what the Faith Leader Directory can offer as a database, a digital space inside Be Kind Humans you can tailor your place to host the kinds of activities that fit your offerings. You can provide an experience of you, inasmuch as you would like. People can get to know you or, at least, feel as if they know you. You might have books to sell, pre-marriage counseling, pastoral care, a class to teach or a congregation you want to plant. You may want to meet only in-person, only digitally, only after 7pm, or some whatever fits your life. You can share your own link (URL) or email invitations straight from your personal space. You can charge a one-time fee, a subscription, or be 100% free to the public. You can be open to the public for free and charge for certain events, classes or take free-will offerings.

Faith Leader Access is the same as General Public Access except that it adds a growing number of faith-leader-only spaces (collegial groups, courses, events, etc.). Like the General Public Access Membership, each faith leader has their personalized wall, chat, and profile page.
Every member of Be Kind Humans gets their own Member Dashboard, and access to the coffeeshop, gift shoppe and Be Kind Human’s podcast, Be Doing Faith.
We are keenly aware that the greatest asset everyone in the Be Kind Humans universe gets is everyone else, including you.
Work less, serve more. Our era of apps and the internet has enabled entire generations to experience faith leaders at a safe distance before introducing themselves. This does not mean that faith leaders need to live online or add lots of work to their plates. There is, however, a reasonable expectation that a component of being a faith leader is sharing some publicly, demonstrating a balance of vulnerability, safety, personability and professional expertise. We cannot pretend current technology is all good or all bad, or is unavailable. We cannot lovingly bury our heads in the sand while souls are agonizing in their felt isolation when your gifts, all our gifts, could be at their fingertips.
Be where they are looking for you. The Be Kind Humans goes much farther than any website or directory, it goes toward organic relationships and community. It can give people an experience of interactions with you, directly or indirectly. Be Kind Humans can bring your personality to life in natural ways.
Whether you teach a class, initiate a post, make a comment, ask a question, share a sermon, or cheer an article, others can intuit whether you are someone who can meet a need in their life.
Join the Be Kind Humans universe through a Faith Leader Access plan. It is that simple.

If you have been a faith leader for any length of time then we do not need to persuade you of the value collegial support and relationships. We do not need to tell you the value of continued education and spiritual growth. We do not need to tell you that self care and having a sounding board are critical to longevity.
Some of you are new faith leaders. Some of you are veteran faith leaders. Most are in the middle. Each of you have a sense of what you can offer and of what you need.
Although which faith leaders join us is beyond our control, we aim for diversity in all the ways people identify. Ironically, we cannot create an open-minded universe of learning and inclusion without a degree of excluding dangerous, hurtful theologies and behaviors. If you are unable to be experienced as a safe, kind and inclusive person then we must uphold a healthy boundary and recommend professional counseling services outside of Be Kind Humans.
(As a plug for every person's well being, regular professional counseling is good for ever person and very important for anyone in any kind of leadership, including parenting.)
As a service provided, collegiality is not a separate product, it is just a feature of any faith leader's access plan. So, if you have not joined already, join and we recommend creating an on-demand class about your specific faith. Chat with UU Jay inside about what you could teach. You can teach exclusively to faith leaders or in the general "courses" area. You can promote it internally or externally of Be Kind Humans Universe.
It's up to you, what you participate in and how. Obviously, you can be a teacher. You can also be a student. But you can't do anything from outside Be Kind Humans.
The term “faith leader” is used broadly and, for our purposes, gladly includes credentialed non-faith experts which provide for improved spiritual and emotional health (ie. some yoga instructors, some acupuncture, some atheist chaplains, etc.). Faith and non-faith leaders must be in good standing with their authorizing agencies. We recommend that the public request documentation and experts present their credentials among profile images.
These plans are to add listings for individual faith or non-faith leaders, people with expertise supporting spiritual health.
